In the last 12 years, I have been an entrepreneur, an investor for early stage startups, and an advisor for SME and well-known European brands.

We believe in a world where millions of digital professionals are truly happy and in control of their work. At Hippi we develop software that improves people’s quality of life.

Since 2012, I have managed a web agency. During this process I have had the pleasure of collaborating with many digital freelancers, such as developers, designers, and marketers. I have noticed that everyone suffers from the same problems:
- Constant stress: They have to handle too many responsibilities simultaneously
- Lack of free time: They feel they must always be available to customers
- Economic instability: Despite working overtime, they struggle to make ends meet

The result is that two out of three freelancers suffer from anxiety.

And in my experience, these difficulties are attributable to three causes:
- Lack of a proven working method
- Lack of legal and economic protection
- Lack of technical skills

Our mission is to develop software that solves these three causes.

2012 – Present

Babini Mazzari S.r.l. owner of the SED Web™, TuttoIncluso™, and Hippi™ brands.

Our mission is to empower businesses by harnessing the power of the internet's scalability, digitalization, and visibility.
The core business consists of delivering enterprises with web services such as web design and development, hybrid mobile app development, and e-commerce and e-learning platform development.

The other branch of the company specializes in developing proprietary web-based applications and serves as an incubator for local startups thanks to its business development program.

The company counts more than 230 active customers ranging from SME to multi-national brands of the secondary and tertiary sectors. Sales have exponentially increased over time, and customer loyalty, a crucial factor for tech companies, is steady at an average of 96%.

As a founder, my role in the company has changed drastically over time and so have my responsibilities. Currently in 2020, I am focused solely on managing the financial health of the company while daily operations are handled by appointed directors.

The company was first established in Brazil. Due to strategic decisions, it later moved its operations to Italy. The company has been financed solely with the owners’ equity.

Laboratori Cosmetici Mazzari
2016 – 2019

The company imports and sells wholesale cosmetic raw materials. Our catalogue includes more than 65 different products and over 300 varieties, including certified organic, Ph.Eur, USP, and food-grade. Each cosmetic raw material is finely selected and tested before being offered to our clients.

On our journey to bring the best cosmetic raw materials to the market, we try to support local economies and communities, making sure that our trade is respectful of local labor.

The company has enjoyed constant growth since its foundation. However, its potential keeps slowing down due to a slow-moving market and the harsh competition by the historical key players of the industry.

UPDATE: The company has been officially shut down as of December 2019.

This tough decision comes after a year of calculations and evaluations. The Laboratori Cosmetici Mazzari was founded in 2016 with ambitious goals and precise growth projections. The reality today is that the actual growth of this company has not met the projections quickly enough to justify our investment (both monetary and time investment). Therefore, it is no longer in our best interest to push on this sector.
We leave behind a healthy company, without liabilities and an enviable know-how.

I heartily thank our clients for allowing us to enter their world. It was an entrepreneurial journey full of challenges and satisfactions. My team and I have grown a lot over the years, and we owe it to our customers.

Tecnoacademy
2015 – Present

TecnoAcademy produces and distributes professional online courses through its proprietary e-learning web platform.

In Italy, it is mandatory for members of a professional register (e.g. engineers, architects, or chemists) to complete enough sector-related courses in order to reach the yearly quota of credits. The successful completion of each online course guarantees a specified number of credits to the learner. TecnoAcademy is the only e-learning company accredited to all professional registers in Italy.

The company aims at selling online courses for both B2C and B2B customers. The B2C division focuses on selling courses to freelancers and independent professionals, while the B2B division focuses on bulk-selling courses to the employees/affiliates of an organization. TecnoAcademy places its service in the high-quality market segment.

As investor and marketing advisor, I planned and taught employees how to execute and asses the performance of a marketing strategy, aiming at increasing brand recognition and sales for both the short-term and long-term. I also helped shape the company's future through strategic decision-making and my experience in business development.

My role as marketing advisor ended on August 2018, when the company successfully left the incubator at Babini Mazzari S.r.l. (aka SED Web). My contribution as an investor and board member is ongoing.

PaperPixels
2017 – Present

Design and development of mixed reality experiences for recreational and educational purposes. Design, construction and sale of Megasim dynamic driving simulators.

Paperpixels creates experiences for events and entertainment using virtual reality. The team develops virtual reality products completely in-house, from the design of mechanical parts to software development, and from 3D graphic modeling to animation, all the way up to gaming logic.

Since 2017, Paperpixels productions have spread throughout Italy: Milan, Arese, Turin, La Spezia, Salerno, Biella, Vicenza, Verona, Molfetta, and many more.
